The Mahindra XUV 400 EV emerges as a compact electric SUV tailored specifically for the Indian market, representing an electrified rendition of the popular XUV 300. The Mahindra XUV 400 is priced between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, with three variants available: EC, EL, and automatic transmission options.

Exterior Features

Drawing cues from the XUV 300, the exterior of the Mahindra XUV 400 exhibits subtle electric vehicle (EV) accents. Notable alterations include a sealed-off grille, revamped headlamps, and distinctive copper touches. Enhanced proportions, showcased through newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and a front left fender charging port, augment the SUV’s aesthetic appeal.

Interior Design and Features

Internally, the Mahindra XUV 400 integrates copper highlights within the dashboard and steering wheel, maintaining consistency with its predecessor. While the interior layout mirrors that of the XUV 300, a fresh all-black theme elevates the cabin ambiance. Noteworthy features comprise a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, 60+ connected car applications, drive modes, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, a single-pane sunroof, and push-button start-stop functionality.

Safety Measures

In terms of safety, the XUV 400 prioritizes occupant protection with six airbags, ABS+EBD, front & rear disc brakes, ISOFIX mounts, and a rear parking camera.

Engine and Specifications

Powering the XUV 400 are two battery packs – 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh units – coupled with a single electric motor. Both configurations generate 147 bhp and 310 Nm torque, with the smaller battery offering a range of 374 kms and the larger one extending up to 456 kms. Dimensions-wise, the XUV 400 measures 4,200 mm in length, 1,821 mm in width, and 1,634 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, and rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
