BMW India has unveiled its flagship electric sedan, BMW i7, in the Indian market. It is priced at ₹ 2.03 crore (ex-showroom, India). The electric version was launched alongwith it’s fossil fuel counterpart at the JoyTown 2023 festival in Mumbai. This move reinforces BMW’s commitment to electric mobility in India’s luxury automotive sector.
BMW i7 Price in India
BMW i7 has come up with it’s two variants in the electric mode – BMW i7 xDrive50 M Sport which is priced at ₹ 2.03 Crore (ex showroom, India) while BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport is priced at ₹ 2.13 Crore (ex showroom, India).
BMW i7 Top Speed
Both the variants, whether it is BMW i7 xDrive50 M Sport or BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport generate a top speed of 250 kmph.
Design and Styling
i7 shares a striking resemblance to its fossil fuel counterpart, the 7 Series. Its design features include sharper and slimmer two-element crystal LED headlights, a larger kidney grille with illuminated surrounds and a long bonnet with bold lines. The i7 distinguishes itself with blue accents while the 7 Series receives M Sport styling. Customers can choose from a range of wheel sizes, from 20-inch alloys to 21-inch M Sport wheels with darkened exterior accents.

BMW i7 is available in a range of 7 colours viz., Oxide Grey metallic, BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue metallic, BMW Individual Dravit Grey metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic, Mineral White metallic, M Brooklyn Grey metallic.
BMW i7 Interior Features
The cabin of i7 closely resembles that of the fossil fuel powered 7 Series, offering it’s Live Cockpit Plus with the all-new iDrive 8 user interface. Notable interior elements include a curved 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen forming a single continuous piece of glass. An optional 31.3-inch 8K theatre screen display can be added between the front seats providing a “car theatre” experience with built-in Amazon Fire TV access.
Additionally, passengers benefit from two 5.5-inch tables mounted within the door panels. The optional Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System enhances the audio experience while seats are upholstered in Merino leather with cashmere wool accents.
Technological Advancements
The sedan is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems including a Level 2 Plus hands-free driving system with lane-centring technology and automatic lane-change functions. BMW has expanded its Parking Assistant feature enabling advanced remote smartphone parking and reverse assist.
Additionally, it offers adaptive steering for precision driving with rear-wheel steering capable of turning up to 3.5 degrees. The car also features an option to automatically lower itself for improved aerodynamics.

Performance and Specifications
The BMW i7 xDrive60 model is powered by two electric motors drawing energy from a 101.7 kWh battery pack. These motors deliver 536 bhp and 744 Nm of torque propelling the it from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds. BMW claims a driving range of up to 483 km (US EPA Driving Range) on a single charge with compatibility for fast charging of up to 195 kW. It’s top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
